Local Auto Glass Repair

March 29, 2007 By: damdanger Category: Blog No Comments →

When you need your auto glass repaired it is always a better idea to go to a locally owned business rather then a “branded” business for a few different reasons. The biggest reason is because if your insurance is taking care of it, you would not see a price difference and you would be helping out your community. Small business owners value your business more then a large corporation ever could, so they will give you total satisfaction. If you live in the Las Vegas area, there are nice little locally owned businesses forLas Vegas Auto Glass Repair! So do your community a favor, when you can shop at locally owned businesses you really should! Why put another buck in a corporation’s pocket that probably could care less about your satisfaction?

US Senate Votes to Keep Pullout Deadline

March 29, 2007 By: damdanger Category: Blog No Comments →

A funding bill in senate recently survived a vote to remove the March 2008 deadline. This doesn’t mean President Bush won’t use his right to veto, but at this point he is a very weak figure in the governent who has lost a lot of respect. I suspect a few more senators would hop on board to override his veto just to let the Executive Branch know who has the constitutional obligation to declare and fund war.

The Democratic-controlled Senate narrowly signaled support Tuesday for the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Iraq by next March.

The vote triggered an instant veto threat from the White House in a deepening dispute between Congress and commander in chief.

Republican attempts to scuttle the nonbinding timeline failed on a vote of 50-48, largely along party lines.

Sens. Gordon Smith of Oregon and Chuck Hagel of Nebraska — called “two brave Republicans” by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid after the vote — joined Democrats in opposing the amendment.

The roll call marked the Senate’s most forceful challenge to date of the administration’s handling of a war that has claimed the lives of more than 3,200 U.S. troops. It came days after the House approved a binding withdrawal deadline of August 31, 2008.

“This is a strong message which amplifies the action of the House and reflects the overwhelming sentiment of the American people,” said Sen. Jack Reed, D-Rhode Island. “It’s a message that must be heeded by the president and by the government of Iraq.”

Three months after Democrats took power in Congress, Reid said the moment was at hand to “send a message to President Bush that the time has come to find a new way forward in this intractable war.”

The Pat Tillman Coverup

March 29, 2007 By: damdanger Category: Blog No Comments →

I’m sure by now you’ve heard of the Pat Tillman controversy, especially if you are a sports fan. If not, Pat Tillman was a Safety in the NFL playing for the Arizona Cardinals when he got inspired by the events of 9/11 to join the armed forces. He was made into a sort of a false martyr, the public and his family being told he died in a skirmish with enemy forces in Afghanistan, when the truth is he was killed by friendly fire. The generals made Tillman into a glorious example and covered their ineptitude to train their soldiers not to kill good guys…

The mother of Cpl. Pat Tillman, the former NFL player killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan in April 2004, on Tuesday rejected the latest explanation from the U.S. military about her son’s death.

“It became very obvious early on that they were lying to us,” Mary Tillman said on ESPN Radio’s “Dan Patrick Show.” “They were only telling one side of the story. They weren’t telling the other side.”

The military reported Monday that nine military officers, including four generals, will face “corrective action” for making critical mistakes in the aftermath of the Army Ranger’s death.

An investigation by the Army’s inspector general and Criminal Investigation Command concluded officers in Tillman’s chain of command knew almost immediately after his death that he had been killed by fire from his own platoon, but that information was withheld from his family for more than a month, in violation of Army regulations.

Recent Protests in San Diego

March 29, 2007 By: damdanger Category: Blog No Comments →

Here is some rough footage of real war protests taking place on the 17th of this month in San Diego. Nothing that exciting happens, don’t expect to see any cops beating protestors. The real interesting aspect of this video is the fact that its grainy quality and slow frame rate make it look almost like a classic Vietnam-era video of war protestors. I don’t know… call me weird.

John Lennon’s Classic Plea

March 28, 2007 By: damdanger Category: Blog No Comments →

Ah, had to go with one of the classics today. Here is a video of John Lennon at one his infamous “bed-in” protests against the Vietnam War. It’s really too bad we have no celebrities these days to make the same bold statements as the outspoken, iconoclastic John Lennon. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this jam session with John singing “Give Peace a Chance”

Medical

March 28, 2007 By: damdanger Category: Blog No Comments →

I guess the most common piece of medical equipment is the stethoscope.
Stethoscopes have been the most practical, first-line defense in detecting irregular
heart beats and disease. Yes, though technology now dominates the medical
field, the hand stethoscope will be in play for many years to come. Sometimes the old way is better, things may never change.

Pens

March 28, 2007 By: damdanger Category: Blog No Comments →

There is one thing I’ve been collecting for years. It hasn’t even been a
conscious desire, just something that rises out of pure coincidence. I see
them all over the desk right now,
pens! It’s funny how I can find pens from
just about every place I’ve ever been, advertising anything you can possibly
imagine, and I’ve kept them over the years. Still, I can’t ever find one
that works! Maybe i should just buy a fancy expensive pen.
